Physical Therapy

Physical therapy (PT) involves the treatment, healing and prevention of injuries by restoring function and movement to the impacted area. Proper rehabilitation is achieved under the care of a trained physical therapist. Every individual is different and may respond differently to therapy. People have different types of bodies, different patterns of movement and different habits, so not all forms of therapy will work for everyone. A physical therapist is able to evaluate the needs of each individual to create a therapy regimen that is right for the individual.

There are two general types of physical therapy: passive therapy and active therapy. Healing is generally best achieved through a combination of the two.
